Deep Down Inside of Me

We’re not sure who wrote this beautiful song. (Let us know if you do!)

The lyrics are:

Deep down inside of me
I’ve got a fire going on
Deep down in side of me
I’ve got a fire going on

Part of me wants to sing about the light
Part of me wants to cry, cry, cry
Part of me wants to sing about the light
Part of me wants to cry, cry, cry

Here’s a lovely recording of it sung by our own Amelia Schonbek!

Vasile 15th Anniversary Table Acclamation

This is a beautiful setting of the table acclamation written by our dear friend and brilliant composer, Paul Vasile.

It bursts with energy and joy.

Here is a recording of Paul teaching it.

And here is the sheet music.

It uses the silver shruti setting (C and G).

Thank you, Paul!

Palestinian Hallelujah

This is a beautiful John Bell arrangement of a song from Palestine.

The song has two vocal parts, which are heard in this recording.

The lyrics are simple:

For the higher, melody line:

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu

Hallelujah, hallelu

Hallelujah, hallelu

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelu

For the lower, slower moving counter-melody

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Ha—aallelujah, ha—aallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah

The shruti setting for this song would be G (with a D above it if the shruti you’re using allows).

Here also is some sheet music for instrumental accompaniment.

Flute

Violin

Viola

Down to the Well

“Down to the Well” is a beautiful and energetic song by Sabrina Partridge.

Here are the words:

I will go down to the well

Let the water ring me like a bell

Let the water rock me like a child

For this well will not run dry

No this well will not run dry

Here’s a teaching track from our own Debbie Holloway.  (If you’d like a little more instruction, you can listen to this teaching track with extra info.)

As you’ll hear, it’s got a lot of rhythm and syncopation, so it’s important to practice ahead of time so all of this feels secure as you lead it.

Love and Faithfulness Shall Lead

“Love and Faithfulness Shall Lead” is a beautiful song by David Poole that captures the essence of Psalm 85.

The lyrics are “Love and faithfulness shall lead.  Righteousness and peace will kiss.”

Here’s a video of the song being taught and led by Music That Makes Community’s Conie Borchardt.
