I am dreaming of a house just like this one<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

but larger and opener to the trees, nighter<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

than day and higher than noon, and you,<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

visiting, knocking to get in, hoping for icy<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

milk or hot tea or whatever it is you like.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

For each night is a long drink in a short glass.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

A drink of blacksound water, such a rush<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

and fall of lonesome no form can contain it.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

And if it isn\u2019t night yet, though I seem to<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

recall that it is, then it is not for everyone.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Did you receive my invitation? It is not<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

for everyone. Please come to my house<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

lit by leaf light. It\u2019s like a book with bright<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

pages filled with flocks and glens and groves<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

and overlooked by Pan, that seductive satyr<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

in whom the fish is also cooked. A book that<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

took too long to read but minutes to unread\u2014<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

that is\u2014to forget. Strange are the pages<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

thus. Nothing but the hope of company.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

I made too much pie in expectation. I was<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

hoping to sit with you in a tree house in a<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

nightgown in a real way. Did you receive<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

my invitation? Written in haste, before<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

leaf blinked out, before the idea fully formed.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

An idea like a storm cloud that does not spill<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

or arrive but moves silently in a direction.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Like a dark book in a long life with a vague<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

hope in a wood house with an open door.<\/p>\n
