{"id":561,"date":"2011-02-03T16:21:05","date_gmt":"2011-02-03T21:21:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stlydias.org\/blog\/?p=561"},"modified":"2015-02-17T18:03:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-17T23:03:00","slug":"giving-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stlydiasliturgy.org\/blog\/2011\/02\/giving-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Giving Way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Dianne Bilyak<\/p>\n<p>In our world nothing sets, it turns.<br \/>\nGalileo observed this through a weak lens,<br \/>\nsaw the strongest of Jupiter\u2019s moons<br \/>\nas four points of light<br \/>\nshifting their positions in time.<\/p>\n<p>And even when he could not,<br \/>\nhe discovered they were only<br \/>\nconcealed by the cyclic eclipses<br \/>\nof steady, celestial motion,<br \/>\nby rotations herding the galaxy<br \/>\nto keep its outer rim sharp.<\/p>\n<p>She was like that planet<br \/>\ncarrying twice the weight<br \/>\nof all the others combined,<br \/>\nher red eye set to glare,<br \/>\nher surface pulsating with<br \/>\ntemperatures so extreme<br \/>\nlanding was futile.<\/p>\n<p>I told her, try this:<br \/>\nopen the mouth and say Ah,<br \/>\nthen Ah Lay, then Ah Lay Lu,<br \/>\nthen all of them together<br \/>\nwith a Ya at the end.<\/p>\n<p>This is joy.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t come at once,<br \/>\nit comes in pieces<br \/>\nlike stairs and lifts you.<br \/>\nOr swings like a gate in the wind.<br \/>\nWhen it\u2019s slightly ajar<br \/>\nyou should push through,<br \/>\nwander around,<br \/>\nmaybe sing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Dianne Bilyak In our world nothing sets, it turns.
