{"id":970,"date":"2011-10-14T11:09:31","date_gmt":"2011-10-14T15:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stlydias.org\/blog\/?p=970"},"modified":"2011-10-14T11:36:50","modified_gmt":"2011-10-14T15:36:50","slug":"borracho-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stlydiasliturgy.org\/blog\/2011\/10\/borracho-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Borracho Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For a regular family sized meal, try this for the beans and rice:<\/p>\n<div>BEANS<\/div>\n<div>Three cans of pinto beans, strained<\/div>\n<div>Enough beer to cover the beans by 1\/2 inch (around 2 cans or bottles &#8212; use a pale ale, pilsner, or blond lager)<\/div>\n<div>2 cans of tomatoes with mild chillies (like Rotel)<\/div>\n<div>1 large onion, chopped and clarified<\/div>\n<div>3-4 cloves of garlic, chopped and browned<\/div>\n<div>2 tsp cumin<\/div>\n<div>2 tsp coriander<\/div>\n<div>(Add more of both or either too taste)<\/div>\n<div>Put all in a stew pot, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes. Use immersion blender or potato masher to smash some beans and create a thicker broth.<\/div>\n<div>RICE<\/div>\n<div>Cook enough brown rice for 4-5 people.
