{"id":991,"date":"2011-11-07T15:32:16","date_gmt":"2011-11-07T20:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stlydias.org\/blog\/?p=991"},"modified":"2011-11-07T15:34:13","modified_gmt":"2011-11-07T20:34:13","slug":"a-new-creed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stlydiasliturgy.org\/blog\/2011\/11\/a-new-creed\/","title":{"rendered":"A New Creed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This creed was published by the United Church of Canada.\u00a0 It was read at St. Lydia&#8217;s by Rachel Pollak on the night of her baptism, November 5, 2011, in lieu of a poem.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A New Creed<\/p>\n<p>We are not alone,<br \/>\nwe live in God&#8217;s world.<\/p>\n<p>We believe in God:<br \/>\nwho has created and is creating,<br \/>\nwho has come in Jesus,<br \/>\nthe Word made flesh,<br \/>\nto reconcile and make new,<br \/>\nwho works in us and others<br \/>\nby the Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>We trust in God.<\/p>\n<p>We are called to be the Church:<br \/>\nto celebrate God&#8217;s presence,<br \/>\nto live with respect in Creation,<br \/>\nto love and serve others,<br \/>\nto seek justice and resist evil,<br \/>\nto proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,<br \/>\nour judge and our hope.<\/p>\n<p>In life, in death, in life beyond death,<br \/>\nGod is with us.<br \/>\nWe are not alone.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks be to God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This creed was published by the United Church of Canada.\u00a0 It was read at St. Lydia&#8217;s by Rachel Pollak on the night of her baptism, November 5, 2011, in lieu of a poem.
